š2002  TAICHI WORKSHOPš

Chen Peishan taught a workshop in Princeton New Jersey on August
10th and 11th. One of the workshop participants was Mike Jones who
wrote a short review for the "neijia" mailing list on the internet.
The following is Mike's review which he agreed to let us publish
as well.

Folks,

Just posting a short review of this past weekend's Chen style Xiao Jia
Taiji seminar at Princeton University, NJ with 20th generation expert, Chen
Pei Shan (son of Chen Li Xian and nephew of Chen Li Qing, and great-great-
grandson of Chen Xin). Chen Peishan has been living in Japan for
more than a decade and this was his third visit to the US.

First of all, IMHO his quality of movement is very good. At various
points, he gave attendees the opportunity to lay hands on his body to feel
the difference between what he termed external v. internal movement. At
the conclusion of Saturday's sessions, he performed Xiao Jia Yi Lu with
lots of explosive fajin (among the best I've seen, more than is seen on his
videos), very clean and relaxed, as well as powerful. At the end of
Sunday's session, he showed performance of the First Road form at basic
level, neijin level, fajin level, and small circle spontaneous level.
